Who accepts TRICARE?

Two different questions hide inside that one. Military hospitals and clinics are a fixed, published list — we have all 356 of them below. Civilian doctors, dentists and pharmacies are a network that changes on contract cycles, and the honest answer there is to check the right directory for your plan and region. This site does both, and tells you which is which.

Know your region before you search anything

Almost every wrong answer about TRICARE starts here. The United States is divided into two regions, each run by a different company with its own provider directory and its own phone number. A provider who is in network in one region is not automatically in network in the other.

TRICARE East Humana Military 800-444-5445
TRICARE West TriWest Healthcare Alliance 888-TRIWEST (888-874-9378)
Overseas International SOS Government Services See the overseas directory

If you live in Arkansas, Indiana, Missouri or Wisconsin, your state is split. TRICARE assigns those four ZIP code by ZIP code rather than state-wide, so nobody — including us — can tell you your region from your state alone. Look up your ZIP code on tricare.mil.

Six states moved from East to West on January 1, 2025, and the West contractor changed at the same time. If you last checked before then, check again — see East vs. West regions explained.

Military hospitals and clinics by state

These are the 303 military treatment facilities (MTFs) in the United States, plus 53 overseas, exactly as TRICARE's own locator lists them. Every address, phone number and set of hours below comes from that official source — we add nothing.

Why we won't hand you a list of civilian providers

You will find sites that publish "dentists near you that accept TRICARE." Those lists are scraped, undated, and wrong often enough to waste your afternoon — network status is a contract between a provider and a regional contractor, and it changes without notice. The only lists that are right today are the ones the contractors themselves publish, so that is where we send you, by name and by link, on every page. What we do host is the data that genuinely is fixed and official: the military facilities, and the benefit rules with a citation and a date attached.

Benefit facts on this site were last verified against tricare.mil on August 1, 2026. Facility data retrieved from the TRICARE military hospital and clinic locator the same day.
